Rosanna Davison and the Celtic Tiger Vs. Celtic Ireland Exhibition

Before covering the exhibition, I must come out and say I like Rosanna Davison.

I have lost count of the number of times people ask me about the famous faces I meet. Anybody over the age of 10 can see that the tabloids play for keeps and so dirty even fairy liquid wouldn’t shift it but although a lot is said about the famous and gorgeous, nothing can ever prepare you for the reality of it. The truth is always simple, isn’t it?

So here is the thing. Famous, gorgeous, rich people are exactly like you and I. They perhaps might be the ok in daylight version of ‘us’, mere mortals, but they are still pretty standard human beings.

Sorry to disappoint folks but Rosanna didn’t come across as a diva or anything like you might expect from reading the silly stories that get printed. She is gorgeous. Much more beautiful in person than in photographs, funnily enough.

The photocall was actually great fun, with Rosanna keeping a clear head as disaster struck (long story but involved a zip and a dress) and amusing and entertaining us. In case you are wondering, I didn’t do Ms. Davison’s make-up. One of our talented graduates, Niamh Donnelly, won a competition and hence was Rosanna’s make-up artist that day. Niamh is definitely going places. The hair was by Harriet Hillard, one of the best hair stylists I have met.

The Exhibition was amazing! The students were entrusted with creating a couple of looks each and the results were even more fab than I would have dreamed of.

The calendars sold really well, which could be the result of making anybody whom came by for any reason whatsoever buy one. Well worth not having post for the month of December I would say.

The Graduate exhibition was such a profound event, in that the students put so much of themselves into raising funds for Barnardos. It is always nice to witness such passion and goodwill.

The exclusively Irish Shop, the Powerscourt town Centre, Collins Barracks (where the shots were taken) and Reads the printing company, were all very helpful and obliging.

Kip Carroll worked his magic and gave us the most stunning signature shots. I admit to being a huge fan.

We have some of the prints adorning the walls at the academy in Dame St but they are supposed to be for sale with proceedings going to Barnardos.

In any case, you can see the prints if you pop in to the Academy. We also still have some of the calendars left so you might get lucky and even receive a calendar.
